What's New: FinCEN Issues Final Rule on Beneficial Ownership

FinCEN issued a final rule yesterday, August 14, 2026, that permanently exempts all domestic companies and U.S. persons from beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting under the Corporate Transparency Act. Furthermore, the rule eliminates update requirements for U.S. person FinCEN Identifier holders and mandates a one-time sweep to delete previously reported U.S. records from the database.
